Who I am

I'm Katey Briggs, a counsellor and psychotherapist trading as Katey Lorraine – Therapy Beyond Words, working in Accrington, Lancashire and online. I'm responsible for any personal information you share through this website. You can contact me about your data at katey@kateylorraine.co.uk or on 07354 603682.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I collect the details you choose to give me: your name, email address, phone number (if given), and anything you write in your message, such as the service you're interested in or a preferred time to talk.

Please only share what you're comfortable with. You don't need to include details about your health or personal history in the form — we can talk about that privately if we go on to speak.

Why I use it

I use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you'd like, to arrange a free introductory call or a session. I don't use them for marketing, and I never sell or share them for anyone else's marketing.

The legal basis is that you've asked me to get in touch (steps before entering into an agreement with you) and my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. If you share anything about your health, I'll only use it with your explicit consent and to respond to you.

Who else is involved

• My website is hosted by Cloudflare. Contact form messages are delivered to my email inbox by Web3Forms, a form-delivery service.
• My emails are handled by my email provider.

These services process data on my behalf, under their own security and data protection terms. Some may store data outside the UK, with appropriate safeguards in place as required by UK law.

How long I keep it

If we don't go on to work together, I delete enquiry messages within 6 months. If we do work together, your information will be kept in line with my professional and legal record-keeping obligations, and I'll explain this to you separately.

Keeping it safe

I keep your information confidential and use password-protected accounts and devices.

Social media

My website links to my Instagram and Facebook pages. If you follow those links, Instagram and Facebook (Meta) have their own privacy policies and are responsible for any data they collect. Please be aware that anything you post publicly or message on social media isn't covered by this notice.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how I use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Just email me at the address above and I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please talk to me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

I may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
